At Silicon Audio, we invent, design, fabricate, test, and commercialize advanced sound and vibration transducers and magnet-free circulators that are used in diverse applications and industries. We employ highly specialized mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to achieve target performance specifications, customized to the demands of each application or technology.

Our transducers, whether used to sense seismic movements of the earth or voices in a room, are comprised of the following: (i) mechanical elements that move in response to a sound or vibration, (ii) high fidelity systems to measure those motions, and (iii) in the case of closed loop sensors, integrated actuators to control those motions. Our circulators, whether focused on sound waves or radio frequencies, use novel approaches to isolate incoming and outgoing signals without the conventional use of magnets. Depending upon the technology, the best manufacturing solution for the end product may be microfabrication (i.e., MEMS) in some cases, while for other products, meso or macro scale fabrication is most appropriate.

Because of the complexity of the products we create, the Silicon Audio team has substantial expertise in technologies as varied as MEMS, optics, acoustics, circuit design, metamaterials and piezoelectric materials –bringing these fields together in innovative ways to optimize each technology’s performance.
